In-office procedures
Many minimally invasive procedures can be safely performed in the office.
A colposcopy is often recommended after an abnormal Pap smear. The procedure allows the provider to examine the cervix using a colposcope, a device that functions like a specialized microscope. If abnormal tissue is identified, a small biopsy may be taken for laboratory evaluation.
An endometrial ablation is a minimally invasive procedure that treats abnormal uterine bleeding and can sometimes be an alternative to hysterectomy.
An endometrial biopsy allows providers to collect tissue from the lining of the uterus to determine the cause of abnormal uterine bleeding.
An IUD is a small device placed inside the uterus to prevent pregnancy. Depending on the type selected, it can provide effective contraception for several years.
The Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP) removes abnormal cervical cells that are identified after abnormal Pap testing and colposcopy.

Often referred to as having your tubes tied, this procedure permanently prevents pregnancy by blocking the fallopian tubes.
Diagnostic laparoscopy allows physicians to view the abdominal and pelvic organs using a minimally invasive camera to diagnose underlying conditions.
This procedure uses laparoscopic techniques to assist in removing the uterus through the vagina, allowing for a minimally invasive approach.
Laparoscopic hysterectomy procedures remove the uterus using small incisions, reducing pain, scarring, and recovery time.
